Assurance Professional – Compliance Audit (EHS)

A Snapshot of Your Day

You are at a Siemens Energy project or manufacturing site, where you inspect the occupational safety setup together with your teammates. Beside the walk-through to identify any hazards, you conduct interviews with local management and EHS professionals to assess the EHS management system. In the afternoon you might have an alignment discussion with the assurance director and already start compiling the audit report, which will be finished after your return from your 3-4 days trip.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Assess of the implemented EHS operating model of selected sites by reviewing the relevant management system, procedures, and policies. This includes EHS/Occupational Safety setup, targets and trainings, Risk Management, Incident Management, Works Supervision, Contractor Qualification, and Project Management.
• Perform site walk-through focusing on site specific hazards related to e.g.: Electrical Safety, Energy Isolation, Hazardous Substances, Working at Heights, Lifting Procedures, Excavation Works, Mechanical Safety, Confined Spaces, Fire Safety and Emergency Management.
• Be part of our audit team assessing the path of achieving our Sustainable Development Goals (ESG Targets / Sustainability) with audit engagements on selected elements of our SDG program, be a change agent and help us predicting future risks by working in an agile and innovative environment on forward-looking projects that provide assurance on critical compliance matters.
• Develop engagement planning by defining rationale for scoping decisions and develop audit programs to ensure adequate coverage of risks. Make use of data analytics methods to ensure that all risks are identified at early stage of audit planning.
• Identify root causes of findings including the associated impact to the business by using analytical skills and define actions for management to mitigate those.
• Conclude and document audit observations in the audit report, participate in closing meetings with management to agree on observations and mitigating actions.

What You Bring

• We are looking for a firm believer that a good understanding of data, technology and innovative audit procedures will elevate the value proposition of Internal Audit.
• You believe integrity and objectivity are core elements to providing assurance on the effectiveness of Siemens Energy's governance, risk management and internal control processes.
• You have a strong past performance in academics (Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Safety or comparable) and ideally relevant professional certification, e. g. NEBOSH
• You have a minimum of 3 years' experience working on EHS / Occupational Safety topics in multinational enterprise, ideally in the Energy, Oil and Gas or comparable industry, you are familiar with related industry standards like ISO 45001, 14001
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, distinct process curiosity and attention to detail, strong presence & assertiveness with high ability to constructively manage conflicts
• You are self-driven with the ability to work independently as well as in teams, committed to continuous learning and to global travel up to 50%.
