Junior Accountant, Bucharest 

Role: Full- time, permanent

Location: Bucharest, Romania 

The Role

We’re seeking a proactive and methodical Accountant to assist both the finance department and the business in business decisions that impact the financial reporting.  In this role, you’ll deal with general accounting, bank statements, account payable & receivable and fixed assets.  You’ll provide hands on knowledge on the general ledger and ensure data integrity at all times. In addition, you’ll take part in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities. In order to optimise accounting procedures, you’ll make and implement recommendations and liaise with external advisors regarding VAT, income tax and other tax declarations.

Some other duties include: 

• Booking employee expense reports, payables & receivables invoices, bank statements, depreciation and any other economic documents/transactions in line with local accounting and tax regulations
• Administering and keeping records of bank credit cards including applying for new cards, setting up new cards in the banking system, monitoring limits
• Cash collection, posting and allocating current incoming payments
• Accounts reconciliations according to month closing procedure
• Posting PO to SAP
• VAT settlements, including active participation in the preparation of the declaration
• Co-participation in the preparation of tax returns (income tax) & in the preparation of financial statements, including corporate/group statements
• Cooperation with the internal auditors, tax auditors
• Participation in finance projects including corporate/group projects like SAP, BPC, SAF-T and E-Invoice
   

The Person

• Higher Education in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
• Previous previous Accounting experience with good knowledge of accounting standards in Romania
• Professional experience of working in finance module SAP FI/SD/MM would be an advantage
• Excellent numerical and spreadsheet skills
• Well organised with a meticulous eye for detail and strong analytical mindset
• Confident across the Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel skills 
• Effective communicator in English and Romanian
