ROLE SUMMARY:
The Cloud Delivery Manager is responsible for orchestrating the application teams modernisation journey and ensuring they receive the support they need throughout the process - technical or otherwise.
As a trusted advisor, and SME for our cloud migration process - the Cloud Delivery Manager is accountable for the success of the teams journey from inception through to their final closure.
So, what does that mean? Your day to day activities will vary dramatically - as you work with the app teams to understand what they need, and help them find it. This could be as simple as identifying (and finding) the right SME to support their questions, or as complex as organising workshops to work through a technical solution for a complex problem. The role spans the spectrum of our organisation - with engagement with cyber, reg, compliance, learning teams, release teams, decom factories, focused migration teams for specific workloads, and more. Most teams will have multiple migration events crossing several cohorts and migration factories - which will mean you are the glue who helps keep this together and ensures that the team, and all their stakeholders, are clear on where we are, what we need and where we are going. This role forms part of a larger global team - so you will have peers and will be part of a community of Cloud Delivery Managers who support and rely on one another. Bringing your technical and relationship skills to bear - you will help ensure the success of your application teams.
This is an exciting role which will experience a direct line of sight and influence to the success of the overall partnership through migrating workloads and helping us achieve our contractual commitments.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
o Technology Program Management & Relationship Management
o Working with the development teams and the existing migration planning teams to agree an overarching plan inclusive of milestones, risks, and issues - using an agile methodology with near term deliverables having a higher level of confidence - which supports all of their journeys
o Continuous engagement with the application teams to ensure they have what they need, are getting the service they require from the migration, SME and supporting teams to move through their journey
o Act as an early warning system for emerging risks, issues, dependencies - as the estate continues to evolve. Looking not only at the current migration in flight, but the interconnectivity of the rest of the applications team platform and/or associated journeys
o Be the 'go to' person for the application team to help them find what they need - SME resources, additional support or training, access to wider resources, etc.
o Providing updates to key stakeholders related to the Application team - inclusive of the business and client managers, to allow for the awareness and potential associated client migrations for the application
o Support the governance process through maintaining the teams tracker/dashboards to reflect the application teams journeys, engagement and challenges
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
o A structured, methodical approach is essential. Like any major transformation initiative, the programme is constantly evolving and changing quickly. You must be able to stay abreast of change and respond accordingly.
o An ability to work with a wide variety of people is vital. We will be working with people from several 3rd party companies as well as teams from across LSEG, both within Technology and beyond.
o An upbeat, cheerful disposition always helps. It's important to be able to lighten the mood and have some fun along the way.
o Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written. High quality output is expected at this level; the migration team publishes material for consumption by senior members of both LSEG and Microsoft. Presentation counts!
o A willingness to collaborate and explore new ideas and concepts. This is an evolving programme and the answers you need may not always be available - you might need to help create them!
o You've done this before (or something similar)- and understand that greenfield migrations aren't straightforward - but that is part of what makes this an incredibly interesting and rewarding role.
o A strong technical background, with experience in cloud computing, cloud migrations, infrastructure migrations or similar in financial services
o OR maybe you've done something of a similar complexity before - but within technology for another industry - and you are a fast learner. Lets talk...
