ROLE SUMMARY: LSEG and Microsoft have entered an exciting strategic partnership for the development of next-generation data, analytics and cloud infrastructure solutions. Our customers' needs are evolving and so are financial markets. This partnership will transform the way customers discover, analyse and trade securities around the world. It will also advance our cloud strategy and build the improved resilience, efficiency and agility that our customers need. All of Microsoft's customers will also have access to our data and analytics capabilities through a single flexible infrastructure that is intuitive and responsive. If you are interested in being a part of this dynamic strategic partnership, we look forward to considering your skills and experience As part of this partnership, we will be both building a greenfield cloud platform and also migrating over 1000 applications onto it. Where does Tech Sustainability fit in? While we do believe these migrations will change our cost profile, we are also interested in looking at the non financial benefits of modernisation. These will include measuring the carbon footprint of our applications and how that changes as we migrate them over time. As you can imagine, this isn't a 1-1 corelation and as a result we are looking to build a team who has ownership for defining and executing against this workstream. Working as part of a team, you will be engaging with internal teams both within LSEG and Microsoft to understand our current modelling around the carbon footprint of our applications and developing a model to map them to one another. In addition, we will need to track how that changes over time - and also hope to perform some predictive analytics to help us better prioritise our migration roadmap. This role forms part of the team who will achieve this for the overall programme. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: This is a hands on role which will require you to get deeply familiar with our current Tech sustainaiblity modelling as well as the models Microsoft uses. You (and your peers) will become the experts in this topic for this programme and will be asked to share knowledge across the org. Your role will include: o Review and map existing carbon footprint models between LSEG and Microsoft - helping to mature those data sets. This will need to be done at a low level of granularity, (servers/workloads) and will need to map against our evolving migration plan o Develop materials to educate a wide range of stakeholders on o Evolve our reporting to reflect how the carbon footprint of the applications change as the migrations progress o Work with the data team to create predictive analytics around this topic o Engage with senior leaders in this space and within the industry to help drive it forward. o Documenting our agreed models, methodologies and assumptions so they can be shared widely alongside the datasets o Lead workshops on this topic to bring decisions to the fore. o Maintaining sharepoint and other sites to support the programme WHAT YOU'LL BRING: o A passion for Tech Sustainability - and the benefits it can bring to large scale migrations o Detail oriented approach to data modelling, and some experience in this space. o You've done this before, or something similar. o A deep understanding of technology - ideally of cloud computing, cloud migrations or similar. o An ability to work with a wide variety of people is vital. We will be working with people from several 3rd party companies as well as teams from across LSEG, both within Technology and beyond. As this role is a pivot point for the teams - and will be sharing their messages, and successes. We will be looking for someone with a calm, balanced approach to engagement o An upbeat, cheerful disposition always helps. It's important to be able to lighten the mood and have some fun along the way. o Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written. High quality output is expected at this level; the migration team publishes material for consumption by senior members of both LSEG and Microsoft. Presentation counts! o A willingness to collaborate and explore new ideas and concepts. This is an evolving programme and the answers you need may not always be available - you might need to help create them! o An appreciation that you will be working in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment - so flexibility is key!
