    A Snapshot of Your Day

    As a Commodity Manager - Machined parts, your daily tasks will include developing strategies for sourcing that meet business objectives such as: making fast transactions via price lists, Smart (automatic) ordering & replenishment, IoT size optimization (together with Operational Procurement), reduce number of suppliers, outsource transactional work to distributors; Develop new suppliers and increase Global Value Sourcing share, coordinate relevant commodity work with the Global Sourcing Direct Material team.


    How You'll Make an Impact
    • Being an active member of the global commodity team;
    • Develop comprehensive strategies (including developing/emerging countries) that support Siemens Energy's business objectives;
    • Drive product cost improvements, develop and implement material productivity programs/ measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets;
    • Ensure PVO transparency for assigned commodities, accurate ESN coding to ensure a correct reporting and to derive an appropriate commodity strategy;
    • Define and implement Commodity and Pooling strategies (based on conducted demand, market, and supplier analyses) upon close alignment with cross functional stakeholders, such as Operative Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering and Finance/Controlling;
    • Evaluate and document in Business Unit Commodity Ecosystem Strategy, and update regularly;
    • communicate strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials and strategic Global Value Sourcing;
    • Define and implement negotiation concepts and strategies to maximize savings; negotiate frame contracts;
    • Identify specific procurement risks, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk/opportunity management;
    • Perform Supplier Management: Supplier selection, incl. documentation and communication of strategic suppliers, regular supplier and strategic evaluations, supplier classifications and supplier development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain.

    What You Bring
    • Bachelor`s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field;
    • A minimum of 4-10 years of experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Field Service, Technical discipline, or similar function;
    • Good problem solving and decision-making skills;
    • Experience managing Long Term Contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions;
    • Mature understanding of multiple aspects of supply chain value stream;
    • Experience utilizing financial and data-driven techniques to make decisions;
    • Must be flexible to travel when needed (both domestically and internationally);
    • Skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint;
    • Strong organizational and time management skills;
    • Proficiency in English and in German is requested (other languages are a plus)
    • Capabilities to negotiate and to operate in different cultures;
    • Technology knowledge of Power plants and components is a plus.
    • Commercial and contract law knowledge would be nice to have.
