    Qualifications
     
    • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar field of study;
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in Product Development for Automotive industry;
    • At least 1-2 years of experience dealing with geometrical dimensioning and tolerance calculations (GD&T);
    • At least 2-3 years of experience within CREO Parametric as CAD-based design tool;
    • Excellent understanding of the design rules for plastic, sheet metal and die cast components;
    • Knowledge about tolerance calculations, manufacturing technologies (i.e., stamping/bending, injection, SMT) and the interconnection of different mechanical parts (i.e., connectors);
    • Knowledge of existing design methods like FMEA, DFMA, V-Model;
    • Eagerness to work with the newest automotive technologies, understanding of complex systems, and shaping the behavior of future cars;
    • Proactivity and adaptability to new development environments, but don't worry, we will be there every step of the way, supporting each other;
    • Self-motivated and ownership oriented in order to deal with of your own tasks and projects;
    • Team player, offer and receive feedback in a team environment;
    • Not afraid to think outside the box and try to find creative approaches to your challenges;
    • English skills - great level of English, both written and spoken, is mandatory;
    • German skills - not mandatory, but can represent an advantage.

    Job Description
     

    We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work within our Engineering Mechanics for Automotive Electronics department.

    In your role, you will:

    • Analyze requirements (environmental conditions, installation, material, manufacturing, life-time) related to the mechanical design of an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) used in automotive and non-automotive applications;
    • Actively lead: technical discussions with suppliers and the capability evaluation for components in own responsibility as part of the purchasing process;
    • Be in charge of design for new or existing mechanical components, using one of the following technologies: die-casting, injection molding and stamping/bending for sheet metal;
    • Consider all technical information (assembly drawings, offer drawings, etc.) in order to ensure flawless manufacturability and cost effectiveness;
    • Offer support for the development of series products before and after the start of production;
    • Prepare all documentation related to the mechanical design as required by the engineering process;
    • Evaluate technical and commercial risk and time planning;
    • Participate in customer meetings;
    • Offer support for the sample built at different stages of the product development process.
