The Engineering teams in LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) Bucharest are building financial technology which is deployed to the world. The technology we deliver is supporting the finance world ecosystem and is shaping global financial markets. The Cloud Platform Engineering team promote agility, innovation, and speed to market by supporting businesses across the Group with reliable cloud infrastructure.
How? Using a multi-cloud approach:
Utilising best in class services from each cloud provider, such as Container Orchestration, Data Warehouse, or compute resources. LSEG Cloud Platform Engineers can work across Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services) & GCP (Google Cloud Platform) which provides opportunities to learn and innovate.
What? Cloud Platform Engineering
Platform Engineers design, build and deploy landing zones that provide essential shared services, security integrations, network configurations and IAM (Identity Access Management) boundaries that enable our developers to build cloud native world class applications that power financial markets.
Who? The Person
We are looking for a dedicated engineering manager/principal with experience of building cloud platforms and managing software engineering teams that support critical applications at scale in cloud.
- Team Management:
- Manages a team of Agile delivery leads, cloud engineers & consulting partners that design and build platform shared services and secure landing zones.
- Ensures software engineering standards and modern SDLC practises are maintained.
- Is required to be a technical authority for Kubernetes.
- Understand security, risk and compliance frameworks, disaster recovery, high availability architectures, hardware, operating systems, and networking connectivity
- Collaborates with internal teams (including Product Owners).
- Provide solutions/guidance on Cloud budget management and optimisation.
- Is responsible for the backlog of delivery for the Kubernetes container team.
- Required Skills
- 5+ years of people management experience building strong teams and leading engineers.
- Show a passion for people management and mentorship.
- Technical Leadership:
- Hands on experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery.
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud Native technologies on at least one of the major cloud services providers (AWS preferred).
- Experience designing and delivering production cloud solutions at scale.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure components.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Drive innovation and best practices in cloud infrastructure design and implementation
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in existing processes, tools and workflows, and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our infrastructure.
- multi-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators, to support their needs and align infrastructure initiatives with business goals.
- Communicate effectively with partners at all levels, providing updates on project status and key initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of leading technical teams to success.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies, with experience working with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools and practices (Terraform etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with partners at all levels.
