    Role description

    We're looking for a Senior People Operations Specialist to join Booking Holdings' People team. As a Senior People Operations Specialist you will be responsible for providing high quality support to our Booking Holdings Romania colleagues as a first line of support for employee queries, as well as through the administration of employee changes across the hire-to-retire cycle.

    By staying closely connected to key stakeholders, and leveraging the data and feedback received through our colleagues' queries, the role focuses on continuously improving our processes and ways of working.

    This role contributes to the continuous improvement of People Operations processes; identifying and executing on continuous improvement initiatives to enable the People team to focus on customer service/delivery activities and reduce unnecessary administration.

    As a guiding principle, employee experience is kept at the center of the Senior People Specialist's role.

    The role will be based in Bucharest (Romania) and reports to the People Services and Operations Team Lead.

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Administering employee changes across the hire-to-retire cycle in our People Systems; supporting business projects and initiatives with expertise and testing;
    • Ensuring employee documentation is provided to employees in line with established SLAs, as well as stored as per the relevant legal guidelines and process;
    • Explaining regulations, policies, or procedures to employees and managers;
    • Executing processes and procedures in line with standard operating procedures as well as compliant with global & local employment law and legislation;
    • Continuously seeking ways to improve existing processes, including systems and tooling to fit with evolving requests from the business and drive efficiency;
    • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly payroll report validations to safeguard correct monthly payout;
    • Collaborating with Compensation & Benefits in administering employee benefits;
    • Liaising and partner with country specific stakeholders such as: HR Advisory, Payroll, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits and Recruitment to seek out alignment, process improvement and to drive the 'one team' approach, as well as alignment in processes between BHI and Bcom;
    • Providing training to new hires, stakeholders and employees on People Ops processes and procedures; support functional onboarding, work-shadowing and on the job learning for new hires;
    • Responding to and documenting internal queries according to standard operating procedures;
    • Acting as People Ops project member in BHI and/or People Department initiatives;
    • Preparing reports to key stakeholders as agreed and/or as requested;
    • Driving efficiency and optimization of processes through process reviews and quality checks;
    • Acting as the first point of contact for People escalations to ensure correct and quality resolution for complex cases;
    • Working closely with the People Operations Team Lead to ensure the team meets the operational targets.

    Role Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent;
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in People Operations in Romania;
    • Experience partnering with internal and external stakeholders across the HR functions;
    • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and Case Management Systems;
    • Excellent Romanian & English written and spoken skills;
    • Strong communication skills, building and sustaining working relationships;
    • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member;
    • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy;
    • Passion for continuous improvement of our service to employees as well as of our core processes;
    • Ability to manage work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
    • A flexible, positive and problem-solving mindset; versatility to adapt to changes;
    • Project Management and Continuous Improvement mindset;
