    Role description

    Booking Holdings Romania, is looking for a Privacy Counsel for our Center of Excellence (COE) located in Bucharest, Romania.

    The Privacy Support Team (PST) is a global cross-brand privacy team; this role will provide support as part of the Bucharest PST cluster, and work closely with BHI Global Privacy team to support data sharing initiatives, enterprise contracting, legal shared services as well as with the creation of global policies and procedures.

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Will support the Privacy Teams of Booking Holdings companies by effectively contributing to their privacy program as required by each group company.
    • Will work closely with the BHI Global Privacy Team by supporting global data sharing initiatives, including assisting impact assessments, including privacy impact assessments, data transfer impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, assisting with the set up of records of processing activities, liaising with the brands to align on privacy operational actions to be taken by brands, managing stakeholders across the business to ensure: (i) accurate understanding of the factual aspects of processing activities, (ii) accurate understanding of business needs and timelines.
    • Will review enterprise agreements with minimum supervision, in accordance with the agreed contract review process.
    • Will work closely with the legal function in Romania, as well as key local stakeholders, and support the local BHI Center of Excellence in its day to day activities from a privacy compliance side (review of vendor agreements, conducting privacy assessments, supporting ROPA creations, guiding the business teams when setting up new processes).
    • Will conduct legal research and formulate opinions on data privacy and cybersecurity matters from a global perspective and with a focus on GDPR, as well as Singapore PDPA, CCPA and other data protection laws and regulations.
    • Will advise Booking Holdings Privacy teams across a number of data privacy and other relevant laws, including related to marketing, e-privacy, consumer protection and maintain a regulatory monitoring log.

    Role Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor degree / Specialized Diploma
    • 3-5 years relevant job knowledge
    • Good knowledge of data privacy laws in EU and global privacy laws is a plus
    • Ability to work independently from intake through execution
    • A collaborative team player
    • Strong communicator
    • Fluent in English (written and verbally)
    • Ability to work well with colleagues around the world and handle with ease both time-sensitive and long-term projects
    • Ability to comfortably work with both technical and non-technical audiences and to work with and through all levels in an organization
