The DataScope suite of applications is part of our Pricing and Reference Service business. It is a respected application used in the wider finance industry where clients can download both market data in bulk form or in customized reports. The application has 4k+ external clients who consume financial data to analyse funds and the market position of global industry players.

In this role, you'll be joining our Enterprise Data Solutions as a Lead Java Engineer to work on the DataScope suite of applications.

• Design and develop high-quality software applications using Java technologies.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of complex software systems.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define requirements, design features, and implement solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and security of applications.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues and propose solutions to complex problems.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, sharing knowledge and standard methodologies.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, with a deep understanding of Java core concepts (multithreading, collections, IO, etc.).
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational database systems.
• Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate or JPA.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud platform and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience in Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and collaborators.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with .Net
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, Angular, React).
• Understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
• Certification in Java programming or related technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional).
