TYPE OF CONTRACT: Fixed term (until December 31st 2025)

REPORTING TO: Head of Digital Treasury & Banking

ROLE SUMMARY

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Digital Treasury & Banking (DT&B) is responsible for developing, proposing and implementing the Group's DT&B strategy and relationship management across relevant internal collaborators internally and BAT's Core transactional Banking and non-Banking service partners.

This role includes responsibility for:

• Actively supporting the Head of Digital Treasury & Banking (DT&B) to craft and implement the Groups DT&B strategy covering working capital, banking and payments, digital innovation, and Transaction Banking. Transaction banking covers all areas of bank accounts, liquidity structures and related services.
• Driving selection (e.g. RFPs) and implementation of the procured services or products, and handling the ongoing cost or services and relationships with BAT's banks and service partners.
• Contributing to continuous compliance improvements for the group as an SME for Strategic Litigation and Compliance Projects.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operations/ Professional/ Business

• Act as a proactive business partner to central, regional, DRBU and BU management to support the delivery of business results;
• Co-ordinate and deliver, alongside Treasury colleagues and external partners, efficient liquidity structures;
• Support Head of DT&B to identify and promote digital enablement in DT&B and the broader Treasury function, and handle the vital change process across collaborators;
• Supporting the Group's DT&B Strategy through:
• Leading aspects of the Group DT&B strategy such as establishment and implementation of the digital strategy covering payments (inbound and outbound), infrastructure as a service, trade products, cards, and using merchant acquirer / online Financial services to support B2B and B2C physical and online routes to channels;
• Implementation of efficient and effective (and commercial) banking and digital solutions across regions and globally; including Bank Account Management, Payables (P2P) and Receivables (O2C);
• Identifying and driving opportunities for further optimisation and innovation in DT&B to support the transformation and growth agendas of the Group
• Supporting identification, assessment and selection (e.g. PoC, RFP) of solutions and partners for traditional and new / digital services in collaboration with internal and external collaborators,
• Thought leadership and Product / Solution on behalf of Digital Treasury & Banking as part of the Treasury CoE.
• Business Partnering with collaborators to support delivery of business results, including DT&B delegate to associated forums and project teams
• DT&B SME to support Litigation and Compliance Projects.

Management

• Identification, development and delivery of both traditional banking solution and new digital capabilities solutions to support Global and End Market business requirements, and drive the implementation of these solutions; and
• Handle DT&B collaborations with bank partners, service and technology suppliers to ensure delivery of outstanding transactional best-in-classing, infrastructure and payment solutions.
• Implementation / execution of DT&B strategy and commercially triggered changes into Regions / End Markets in conjunctions with Corporate Treasury and required collaborators
• Line management and development of DT&B Associate Managers
• Support maintenance of the Global DT&B Portfolio including:
  • preparing business cases, budget proposals, and project plans
  • management of relevant DT&B Project and service budgets
  • Top - Down / Bottom - Up alignment of DT&B projects and initiatives
  • Alignment with Corporate Treasury portfolio
  • creation and maintenance of Digital enablement strategies

Leadership

• Contribute to the strategic direction of Treasury and help drive the long-term Finance strategy and broader growth agenda at a Group, Regional, Operations and End Market level
• Product ownership across Global, Regional and End Market services and solutions on behalf of the Head of DT&B
• Lead by example on adoption of digital ways of working, behaviours and capabilities
• Play a pro-active role in Treasury and GBS in order to help define and drive the Group's agenda in respect of Cash & Banking and digital enablement;
• Handle existing partnerships with other functions and support establishment of new relationships with functions (i.e. Procurement, Wellbeing and Stimulation, D2C, Trade etc) and ensure delivery of Treasury matters and digital enablement and solutions to the required quality level;
• Ensure the function is well regarded as a significant contributor to the Finance and Business agenda through proactive, value adding engagement with BU teams and GBS to;
• Chip in as a key Treasury expert into Global and Regional projects
• Co-ordinate and drive ongoing knowledge transfer to GBS regarding DT&B, and across Treasury relating to new digital solutions and opportunities

Relationship

• Provide advisory and thought leadership as part of Corporate Treasury to other Group Treasury teams, and to GBS and Regions
• Support management of relationships with the Group's core banks and specialist / digital service providers;
• Contribute to ensuring positive relationships are established and maintained with the Group's core banks and key solution providers; and
• Proactively handle working relationships with Global, End Market, Regional Finance functions, LEX and iDT / GBS team members

Innovation

• Collaborate across functions to identify new areas of opportunity from existing and new partner relationships and solutions;
• Help shape and collaborate on Treasury standard methodology and DT&B solutions across Treasury, GTO and Regions;
• Assist to the development of the Treasury Operating Model in terms of centralising treasury activity, growing the scope of services provided, enimprovinghe quality of services provided and driving operational efficiency of Treasury processes, and
• Support and drive the collaboration between the Treasury function, iDT, Marketing, Procurement and GBS.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

• University degree
• CIMA / ACCA or AMCT Treasury qualification (desired)
• Excellent English (spoken and written)
• Willingness to travel
• Excellent analytical skills
• Leadership skills, specifically in leading intra-departmental and intra-subsidiary relations
• Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
• Understanding of the fundamental concepts of international treasury management and corporate financial management, with practical experience in a global enterprise.
• Direct experience of contributing to standard process for global Cash & Banking solutions (including good understanding of technologies).
