Test Engineer - Edge Computing

A Snapshot of Your Day

Work closely with the Product Owner, Technical Lead and Lead Developer/Key Expert and Lead Test Engineer to execute and document test mechanisms and procedures for the Edge Computing Solutions and applications. You will gain an understanding of the business use cases and test the solution(s) to meet these needs. You will create documentation associated to all testing performed for all releases of the Edge Computing Solutions.

How You'll Make an Impact

The Edge Computing systems provided and used by Siemens Energy assist with the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial facilities and power plants where solutions are required at a facility and in conjunction with our cloud technologies.

• Execute manual testing mechanisms and procedures to ensure the solutions are functional and stable
• Identify, record, document and track bugs
• Assist with the modelling of testing processes based throughout the Software Product Development teams
• Document testing associated to Edge Computing in accordance the needs of standards compliance organizations ensuring Siemens Energy remains or becomes standards compliant.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology
• At least 5 years of experience in executing test procedures for software solutions.
• Experience with JIRA and Zephyr
• Experience with Postman
• Experience with bug reporting tools
• Certification in QA methodologies or related field is a plus
• Analytical thought processes
• Positive can-do attitude
• Good communication skills both written and spoken
• Familiarity with software development techniques, languages and tools
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to four times a year)

The Digital Products and Solutions (DPS) teams are responsible for developing software solutions for both internal and external customers.

These solutions include Edge Computing and applications, On-site sensor technology integration, Cloud-based platforms and cloud-based software solutions and applications.

The solutions, applications, and platforms we provide allow data acquired to be used to improve the operation and maintenance of power plants and industrial facilities of all sizes this includes the development of digital twins, analytics platforms and agents, artificial intelligent and machine learning applications and algorithms.
