Job Description
The ideal candidate will know how to manage project lifecycles: Waterfall, Agile or mixes, have the ability to work with some ambiguity and is excellent at overall project management. It is essential that you like working with people, they like working with you, and you are able to communicate clearly and effectively with the project team. You will have background and knowledge in setting up PMO framework, capturing and reporting on project KPIs, incorporate continuous improvements to lead to a mature delivery organization.

Responsibilities

Setup, and monitor PM processes across the project portfolio to ensure consistency and enable visibility.

Advise on and influence PM standards for projects, and oversee other PMO operators as well as contribute to and establish the implementation and continuous improvement strategies

Define PM standards, including core processes, artifacts, templates, and tools; advise project teams on applicability of use based on project profile specifics
-
Create processes to facilitate resource demand and capacity management processes and project portfolio.

Drive reporting and communications across Product and Operations Technology project portfolio, including regular updates for senior and executive management, as well as tracking and monitoring of progress against key performance indicators.

Establish budget and financial management practice for Strategic Delivery & Transformation Team

Enable project portfolio governance processes under Strategic Delivery & Transformation leadership.

Work independently and with management on high visibility, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects
-
Sought as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex technical and/or business problems
-
The successful candidate typically has 8+ years of related experience in delivering fast paced, complex projects.

Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
-
Drive team to effective decision making when needed, depicting multiple options for how to progress with the project (leveraging RAPID decision-making model)
-
Communicating with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals (leading Steering Committees, key stakeholder engagement discussions)
-
Work with team to adhere or adjust schedules and targets on the project as needed for the project change through standards such as project rebase lining and change control.

Oversees the planning and implementation of an entire project through budgeting, discipline forecasting, working with vendors, and planning the project release.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
-
6+ years’ of IT project management experience
-
3+ years’ of IT program management experience
-
2+ years’ of Agile project delivery experience
-
Knowledge of PPM tool – can be an advantage
-
Experience with software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) processes
-
Experience with JIRA/AGILE
-
Ability to manage a matrixed, cross functional teams
-
Significant IT/technical or insurance industry background
-
Experience with managing vendor delivery and vendor relationships
-
Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
-
Highly organization, collaborative individual
-
Comfortable working in ambiguity, capable of establishing and growing functions and teams from the ground up
-
An action-oriented, driven, entrepreneurial mindset
-
Ability to work with all levels and facets of an organization.
-
Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts, critical thinking and problem-solving skillset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience as technical PM
- Knowledge of PPM Clarity tool
- PMP (Project Management Professional) (Preferred)
- Previous experience working for an insurance or financial firm
- Experience partnering with both business stakeholders and technical implementation teams.
