    Job Description

    We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle Database Service Architect & Senior Level 3 Administrator to design, optimize, and manage Oracle database environments. This role combines database service ownership, provider management, and technical expertise, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of critical Oracle services.

    The operational support will be handled by external service providers, requiring strong vendor management and service governance skills. You will define best practices, service strategies, and architectural improvements while acting as the technical escalation point for complex Oracle challenges.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Oracle Database Architecture & Optimization

    • Design and optimize Oracle database architectures for performance, scalability, and security.
    • Define and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines for Oracle database infrastructure.
    • Ensure robust high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies using Data Guard and RMAN methodologies.
    • Evaluate and recommend new Oracle database technologies, automation, and cloud integration (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).

    2. Service Management & Provider Oversight

    • Define and manage service strategies, SLAs, and KPIs for Oracle database operations delivered by external service providers.
    • Oversee and evaluate provider performance, ensuring compliance with contracts and driving continuous service improvements.
    • Collaborate with service providers to maintain on-premises and cloud-based Oracle environments.

    3. Security, Compliance & Governance

    • Ensure Oracle database environments comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, TISAX).
    • Implement database hardening practices, including encryption, auditing, and access control.
    • Establish and enforce governance frameworks for Oracle database operations.

    4. Level 3 Oracle Database Administration & Technical Expertise

    • Act as the technical escalation point for complex Oracle database issues.
    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term solutions.
    • Manage patching, upgrades, user access, storage, and day-to-day Oracle operations.
    • Provide expert guidance on Oracle Cloud migrations and optimizations.

    5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    • Identify and implement automation opportunities in Oracle database operations.
    • Support migration projects, database upgrades, and cloud transformations.
    • Align Oracle services with business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
    Qualifications

    • Advanced expertise in Oracle database administration and troubleshooting, including Data Guard, RMAN, and multi-node environments.
    • In-depth understanding of Oracle security and performance tuning best practices.
    • Knowledge of ITIL processes, SLAs, KPIs, and contract/vendor management for externally managed database services.
    • Knowledge of backup and restore methodologies for Oracle environments.
    • Strong understanding of database security best practices, access control, data encryption, auditing, and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001,Tisax).
    • Awareness and experience of cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud) and hybrid integration is a plus.
    • Ability to align database architecture and service strategies with business objectives.
    • Strong capability to coordinate with external providers, ensuring service excellence.
    • Problem-solving mindset.
    • Ability to lead discussions, mentor junior staff, and work cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, and application teams.
