Lead Test Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

Working closely with the Program Manager, Technical Lead and Lead Developer/Key Expert, design and document test mechanisms and procedures for various tools within the existing portfolio of IBS applications.

How You'll Make an Impact

The applications provided by the Installed Base Solutions group are used by multiple Siemens Energy business areas to provide diagnostic services to industrial facilities and power plants around the globe. These applications need to meet certain quality standards and increased testing coverage will need to be implemented to achieve this goal.

• Design and implement testing mechanisms and procedures to ensure the solutions are functional and stable
• Create Test Scripts ??? manual and/or automated -, Test Plans and Test Strategy documents for the various stages of the products/systems
• Create Test Reports for stakeholders
• Build an automation framework that supports the needs of the product or help extend the existing one
• Define KPI's for the Testing process including functional and automation coverage
• Define Automation strategy for products/systems-under-test
• Assist with the modelling of testing processes based throughout the Digital Products and Solutions teams
• Conduct research on innovative test mechanisms and procedures and adopt into the business where appropriate.

What You Bring

• Experience designing and maintaining Test Systems including deploying required versions and performing specific configurations and clean up tasks
• Experience designing and maintaining Test Data including defining required data, setting up specific system states according to Test Plan/Test Strategy/Use case requirements to ensure quality software product delivery.
• Analytical thought processes
• Positive can-do attitude
• Good communication skills both written and spoken
• Familiarity with software development languages, frameworks and technologies including the following would be beneficial: C#, Angular, .NET, REST API, AWS Cloud Platform

The Digital Products & Solutions organization is responsible for developing software solutions for both internal and external customers. These solutions include Edge Computing and applications, On-site sensor technology integration, Cloud-based platforms and cloud-based software solutions and applications.

The solutions, applications, and platforms we provide allow data acquired to be used to improve the operation and maintenance of power plants and industrial facilities of all sizes this includes the development of digital twins, analytics platforms and agents, artificial intelligent and machine learning applications and algorithms.
