A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Intellectual Property Manager (IPM), you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of intellectual property within the Transformation of Industry (TI) Business Area. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing license contracts by gathering relevant product, finance and value chain data from the various teams and functions (i.e. from Finance and Product Management team, Tax, Transfer-Pricing, Legal, Patent attorneys).
How You'll Make an Impact
- Cross-Country IP Transfer Projects: Handle internal IP-transfer initiatives, collaborating with Siemens Energy evaluation teams and external consultants. Collect, analyze, and align business cases, R&D funding, IP contributions, and ownership while ensuring timely execution of agreed actions and milestones.
- IP Management and Licensing: Take ownership of intellectual property in line with Group guidelines, overseeing the identification of IP assets, establishing and maintaining IP transfer and license agreements, and coordinating asset transfers across legal entities.
- IP Consultancy and Compliance Support: Offer guidance on business topics such as bid proposals, license execution, and R&D framework requirements. Facilitate knowledge sharing across business units, analyse deviations, and drive corrective actions related to contracting and booking. Engage with legal, tax, and transfer-pricing teams while supporting tax audits.
- Facilitate Communication and Best Practices: Participate in or initiate meetings to provide and receive guidance on IP and R&D handling in compliance with transfer-pricing, tax, and legal requirements. Maintain active communication within a global internal network to exchange best practices and manage topics efficiently.
- Support Strategic IP Initiatives: Contribute to key projects by enhancing contract descriptions for tax audits, improving IP availability, and ensuring transparent and standardized approaches for managing general and individual IP-related topics.
- Drive Training and Process Improvement: Deliver training sessions on IP-related topics, implement IP contract management and archiving tools, and facilitate tax and business reviews by providing relevant overviews, documentation, and product information.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, law, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in various roles within the value chain environment of a similar industry, with proficiency in MS Office and fluency in English. Experience with SAP R/3 (FI/CO) and exposure to different cultural environments are advantageous.
- Proven experience in contract preparation, financial project planning, and controlling, along with a familiarity/ understanding of tax law compliance requirements.
- Expertise in preparing and managing reports; handling license agreements would be considered a plus.
- Strong analytical and management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication and organizational skills are needed.
- Flexibility for potential travels, the ability to clearly and constructively communicate points of view and recommendations, and a strong sense of passion, team spirit, and curiosity about working in a dynamic and international environment.
