DevOps Engineer - SAS Solutions (Viya & 9.4)

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Experience:
• 3+ years as a DevOps Engineer with hands-on SAS administration (Viya & 9.4).
• Proficiency in scripting (Python/Bash), IaC (Terraform), and CI/CD tools (Gitlab).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Strong Linux/Windows sysadmin skills and networking fundamentals.
• Certifications (Preferred): SAS Platform Administrator, GCP DevOps, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

SAS Environment Management
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SAS Viya (Kubernetesbased) and SAS 9.4 (traditional).
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot SAS server/log issues, and optimize resource allocation.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, and patching strategies for both environments.
Automation & CI/CD
• Develop IaC templates (Terraform) for SAS deployments.
• Build CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for SAS code and configuration updates.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using Python/Bash scripting.
Security & Compliance
• Implement access controls, encryption, and auditing aligned with SAS security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Collaboration & Support
• Partner with data teams to streamline SAS workflows and resolve environment issues.
• Document architecture, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Cloud & On-Premises Integration
• Manage SAS Viya on cloud platforms (GCP) with Kubernetes.
• Maintain SAS 9.4 on Linux/Windows servers, ensuring compatibility with legacy systems.
Innovation
• Stay updated on SAS updates, DevOps trends, and cloud-native tools.

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to maintain, optimize, and secure our SAS ecosystem, including SAS Viya (cloud-native) and SAS 9.4 (onpremises).
You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and IT teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of SAS environments.
Your role will focus on automating deployments, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing best practices for infrastructure-as-code (IaC), monitoring, and disaster recovery.
