Requirements

Professional competencies

Education:

· Computer science graduates (Automatics and Computers Faculty, Informatics, Faculty of Cybernetics) or degree of Transportation Faculty.

Requested technical competencies:

· Experience in test automation software testing and in manual test (preferable safety critical applications);

· Good knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (shell scripting for Unix or Linux, perl, python, other);

· Comfortable working with UNIX / LINUX in command line;

· Configuration management tools (e.g. ClearCase, CVS, SVN);

· Defect and change management (e.g. ClearQuest).


Knowledge of the following is a plus:

· Familiar with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, KAN-BAN….);

· Planning/Reporting management tools (PRIMAVERA, JIRA…);

· Test Management skills (knowledge of ISTQB terms/definitions, preferable certification of ISTQB L1);

· Knowledge of rail signaling or experience with railway applications;

· Experience with the Linux GNU Toolchain (make, gcc, gdb).

· Self-organized and technical lead skills (capacity for self-organizing and coordinating tasks at technical level in a small team, creating work plans and issuing regular progress reports);

· Intercultural communication, including the empathy to work in an international team;

· Team-working (open minded, ability to share information with others);

· Independent problem solving;

· Strong focus on quality delivered;

· Availability to travel abroad from time to time.

Languages:

· English (very good reading and writing - for daily communication);
· German (basic level — for understanding technical documentation).

Responsibilities

Brief task description

Test of complex and safety-critical application software for the railway field, including:

- Specification of Test Cases on Requirements basis;
- Implementation of Test Cases for system and subsystem test. Writing of test programs and test data;
- Automation of Test Cases;
- Execution of automated tests;
- Usage of complex test environments, tools and simulation;
- Evaluation of the test output (coverage, traceability, progress);
- Test documentation;
- Regular test reporting;
- The tests will be performed in close co-operation with experts from Thales Austria.
