Virus Analyst - Be a part of the Avira VirusLab!

As Virus Analyst at Avira you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the excellent detection ability of the Avira products to protect Avira customers with the best detection also in terms of quality. 

You will deal with detected files on a daily basis and decide if flagging them as malicious is justified or not. The outcome of your work is directly reflected to the user experience of all our customers.
 

Requirements:

You have successfully completed computer science education or a computer science study and have the ability to look beyond the box. 
 
You have a high level of self-motivation and an in-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems as well as their network protocols and you enjoy analytical work.

Knowledge in a scripting language like Python, Javascript, PHP or others will help you to automate parts of your work as a welcome change.

You are a team player, but you can also solve your challenge independently and through your analytical approach.

Performance objectives: 

Starting from day one, you are part of an international team of malware and security experts, and you will go through an intensive training in the malware analysis during your training phase. After successful completion of your training, you are able to analyze suspicious files independently and decide whether this is actually a computer virus or not. 

Armed with debugger and analysis tools, you analyze virulent files and other content to provide appropriate identification patterns for our customers. Your decisions have a direct impact on our customers behavior. The quality of your work matters, it has direct impact to millions of our users all over the world.

Combating the daily changing malware is a challenge for you. Your enthusiasm will help you to complete the duties assigned to you even faster and more precisely in the future. You will quickly independently differentiate malicious files from harmless and take the corresponding measures.

You will exchange your knowledge and experience also within an international team and help transfer this onto new team members. Your good English skills will enable you to communicate proficiently with our international colleagues.
