Career Opportunities in Assurance

A huge diversity of clients. The chance to scrutinise how successful businesses work. They’re reasons enough to work in Assurance. But it's the team element that really makes a difference - and which convinces so many people to make audit their 'home'. Everyone's input is valued - it's how we manage to deliver the quality of service that make clients return to us again and again.

Our Assurance practice is brand-defining. As market leaders, we’re constantly pioneering and driving our audit business forward. Our experts analyse every aspect of clients’ activities, then advise them on whether what they’re doing is sustainable, profitable and legal. It’s critical work that underpins investor confidence. So it adds real value to each client’s business.

Whoever our clients are, we get to know them, investigate what they do and how they do it and find out what they plan to do in the future. Then we work out what risks they face, if those risks are being addressed and the impact on the accounts. So we need to be just as good at interviewing and strategic thinking as we are with numbers.

What you'll do
You’ll have hands-on work straightaway. Joining a team working at a client site, you’ll interview key contacts, verify the accuracy of data and raise any discrepancies or queries. You'll also compile reports on everything from suppliers to bank records, and from company cars to personnel.

It’s investigative work that often involves one-to-one meetings with financial controllers and finance directors, and you’ll need to be tenacious and resilient to do it well. And as finance is at the centre of every organisation, you'll learn constantly about how businesses operate.

As you gain experience, we’ll give you more responsibility for planning and executing audits as well as coaching junior colleagues.

As delivering the highest level of service to our clients is our main driver as a firm, we invest in our people's professional development. That is why from day one with the firm you will be enrolled with ACCA, an international professional qualification for audit professionals. The firm will of course provide full support for you to go through this exciting learning opportunity.
