1. Can you tell us in brief, who is MassMutual globally and what is the role of MassMutual Romania?

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance (MassMutual) is a leading mutual life insurance company based in Springfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1851 and run for the benefit of its members and participating policyowners, the company has been constantly guided by one consistent purpose: to help people secure their future and protect the ones they love. 2. I know that you are working with some of the latest technologies. Can you give us some info about the type of projects you develop in Romania and what is the technology stack you use?

At MassMutual Romania, we develop digital products and technological solutions that help MassMutual’s customers protect themselves financially while offering an integrated customer experience that exceeds expectations. We work with a diverse range of technologies as we continue to migrate to a digital end-to-end platform, simplifying the user experience and remaining innovative.

Specifically, we focus on developing technology by utilizing Data Science, Data Modeling, Data Visualization, Data Engineering, also developments such as Java, .Net, Solution Architecture, Cloud, Cloud Engineering, API development, ETL development, Database engineers, SAP, Security and Risk, and more.
 
 

3. MassMutual attracted tech professionals from all over Romania, and you are now a team of over 300. What is the secret? What attracts them to MassMutual Romania?

MassMutual Romania has seen fantastic growth since its opening, and we strive to continue this success moving forward. Our amazing leadership team consists of Mike Makar - Head of MassMutual Romania, Marius Clapon - Head of IT Delivery, Mihaela Berechet – Head of HR, Andreea Blenche – Romania Finance Partner, and Costin Teodorovici - Chief Legal Officer.

They understand the importance of being there for each other, knowing that true collaboration brings better outcomes, and they lead by example to facilitate open communication and teamwork. All our people at MassMutual Romania value autonomy, independent thinking, honesty, integrity, and trust. We do our best to make sure that we live by them every day.
