JTI is one of the world's largest manufacturers of tobacco and vaping products, with operations in over 130 countries. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, JTI has approximately 46,000 employees and is a member of the Japan Tobacco group.
Here in Romania, we were among the first multinational companies to establish operations locally, back in 1993. Today, we are a team of over 1.400 colleagues working across our headquarters, factory, global technological hub in Bucharest, and more than 30 sales offices throughout the country. We also coordinate the Bulgarian and Moldovan markets. Over the years, we have invested over 300 million euros in the local market and around 30 million euros in social and cultural projects.
