Booking Holdings Romania has inaugurated the renovation works of four seminar and laboratory areas within the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science at the University Politehnica of Bucharest, covering a total surface of 150 square meters, including a seminar room, a teaching preparation room, a technical area, and a hallway. The project is part of the company’s approach to investing in educational initiatives and supporting educators with the long-term objective of enabling students for the jobs of the future by developing essential skills.
The renovation focuses on modernizing key areas by integrating the same design approach as in the offices of the Booking Holdings Center of Excellence in Romania and includes the replacement of existing furniture, air conditioning, flooring, doors, lighting fixtures, blinds, wallpaper, as well as repairing and painting existing walls. These upgrades aim to create a more productive, comfortable, and collaborative environment while helping students develop key skills for future employment.
“As one of the world’s leading travel technology companies, where innovation and technology play an important role, investing in the future of education and involvement in shaping the new generation of professionals is a responsibility we embrace. This inauguration marks the first of its kind within our Centers of Excellence, and it will serve to strengthen our future partnerships and projects with the local educational sector as we continue to seek new talent and grow our presence in the country,” said John Herrera, SVP, Business Operations and Transformation, Booking Holdings.
“Education plays an essential role in our Booking Holdings Center of Excellence’s strategy, and we place a strong emphasis on this pillar in our contribution to the community as well. We believe in the immense potential Romania has to offer and we consider that each one of us can help shape and further position our country as a hub in the technology sector,” added Anca Fotache, General Manager, Booking Holdings Romania.
“The Faculty of Automatics and Computer Science promotes the continuous updating of laboratories and research rooms in line with the latest technological developments, together with our industry partners, which now include Booking Holdings. We are pleased to offer academic training in laboratories equipped to modern standards from the portfolio of companies with which we collaborate. In addition to the current teaching activities - both bachelor’s and master's, in the brand new designed space, the faculty will organize, among others, workshops to introduce students to state-of-the-art technologies, guest lectures by renowned industry experts, as well as special technical events”, said Professor Emil-Ioan Slusanschi, Dr. Ing. Habil. from National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest
The Booking Holdings Center of Excellence in Romania is additionally involved in the local education sector through various other initiatives.
